There are many opportunities to get involved in extra-curricular activities. Chiropractic related clubs include Advancing Science in Chiropractic, Motion Palpation Institute (MPI), Interprofessional Education (IPE), and the RCCSS(C) Sports Club. Many students also participate in a wide range of CMCC sports teams including volleyball, basketball, hockey and soccer.
SCCA – Student Canadian Chiropractic Association
The Student Canadian Chiropractic Association (SCCA) acts as the voice of Canadian chiropractic students – studying at CMCC and around the world – to organizations such as the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) and provincial branches.
SCCA strives to keep students informed about the political and professional aspects of chiropractic, including seminars, licensing and registration, government funding changes, and interprofessional collaborations. The SCCA executive also works with other campus clubs to invite speakers to CMCC and increase the information about clinical practice available to students.
The Interprofessional Committee works to increase the communication between Canadian student health care associations in various health care fields. The International Committee works to develop a communication link with chiropractic students studying in the United States and abroad, and to increase the benefits available for chiropractic students.
The High School Outreach Committee acts to educate high school students about the chiropractic profession.
The newly formed Volunteer Committee is an excellent way for students to find opportunities to contribute to their community.
WCCS
World Congress of Chiropractic Students members have an interest in the realities of practicing in different countries. Representatives attend an annual international congress where delegates of chiropractic schools from around the world debate proposals on issues relevant to chiropractic students and the profession. The club organizes presentations on practicing chiropractic in various countries, and includes such information as the country's chiropractic philosophy and the process of becoming certified there.
