Looking to join a research project as a team member:
I completed training as a chiropractor and had my own clinic in Toronto for six years before taking up a position in research at the Tokyo Metropolitan Institute of Gerontology, Department of the Autonomic Nervous System. subsequently, I moved to Kyoto University where I continued to conduct research and also teach, first in the school of health sciences and then in the faculty of medicine. During this time, I earned my Ph.D. from RMIT University for studies in the somatoautonomic regulation of cardiovascular function. In order to help medical colleagues publish in English, I took an interest in linguistics and language learning. This led to a number of research projects, particularly in the area of corpus linguistics as applied to biomedical and health communications. Language acquisition and rhetorical analysis are now major focuses of my research and teaching. This, in turn, has spawned an interest in social network analysis and language analysis as applied to meta-research and research management.
