Resources and Services
CMCC’s circulating collection, reference works, reserves and the special collection are all housed on the main floor of the library. Books are accessible through our in-house online library catalogue (on campus). Link through the icon on the library home page.
Journals, Print and Online
CMCC subscribes to over 200 print titles. Current issues are shelved alphabetically by title in the main reading room. Back volumes are also shelved alphabetically by title in the stack area. Print journals are catalogued in the OPAC.
CMCC subscribes to hundreds of journals online, and they are accessible to students and staff through our E-Journals A-Z list. Link through the icon on the library home page.
Students, faculty and CMCC members have access to bibliographic databases for searching the chiropractic, biomedical and education literature. They have unlimited access to a number of subscription databases, including those from EBSCO Publishing, the databases of the Cochrane Library, Natural Medicines and several others. They are accessible either through our E-Resources Portal page or icons on our library home page. Multimedia resources include online access to streaming videos such as Acland's Video Atlas of Human Anatomy and Bates' Visual Guide to Physical Examination as well as to a variety of DVDs and CD-ROMs. Optical media are housed on the main floor and may be located through the online catalogue (OPAC).
Library computers are located on the main floor of the CMCC Health Sciences Library. Currently there are 27 workstations in the public area and 10 in the Computer Training Lab. Workstations are available to all CMCC students, faculty and staff and requires network usernames and passwords for computer log in.

Printing and Photocopying
All students, faculty and staff may print and photocopy library materials as long as they observe copyright regulations. In the library there are three library Sharp Multifunction Printers for copying, colour scanning, and releasing print jobs. Student ID cards are also print cards, and they may be loaded using the cash pay terminal in the library's print room. Students may also use credit cards to load their copy/print accounts online at http://payonline.cmcc.ca.
The Media Services department is located on the third floor in Room 327, and is open Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. We provide services to faculty, students and staff to fulfill their multimedia productions and presentation requirements. We offer a variety of digital services including photography, scanning and printing, video shooting and editing, presentation design, equipment loans and troubleshooting. We also offer support and training for all media equipment within CMCC. Please note that we strictly observe copyright laws and will not reproduce materials of any sort without express permission of the copyright holder.
Media Services operates on a cost-recovery basis for our students and faculty. We serve our external clients at a standard production rate of $40 per hour. From 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. call Jay Bowes at 416 482 2340 x 161. From 10:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. contact Ward Hails at 416 482 2340 x 137.
Reference and Information Services
Library orientation is conducted at the beginning of the academic year and on request by individuals and groups.Available from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday, Reference and Information Services includes user training on bibliographic databases and other online resources.
